Visit from our wholesalers in New Zealand

It was lovely this week to see our wholesalers from New Zealand, Jane and Tim of Ex Design, in Dhaka. Dhaka has been tough for a few weeks with too many hartals (general strikes), but Jane and Tim were very fortunate while they were in Dhaka that the hartal was cancelled for their final day and they were able to get down to the Pebble Urban Centre and chat with the ladies making the Pebble toys.

We had, of course, made a contingency, and they would still have visited even if the hartal hadn’t been cancelled and would have come down to the Urban Centre on a rickshaw! The children of the Pebble ladies were also happy to see Jane and Tim and sang some songs in English for them in our little pre-school facility.

Maybe next time they come to Bangladesh we’ll take them a little further afield to see the beautiful countryside and some of our rural centres.
