Fruit and vegetable rattles – to knit

We’ve been making fruit and vegetable rattles for 7 years now and they are as popular today as when we first made them. I’ve blogged before about the history behind them. We were just delighted when Woman’s Weekly asked if they could use some of the patterns in their magazine. For those of you who cannot get hold of the magazine, the patterns are all attached here in pdf for you to download. The cotton that we use at Pebble isn’t available commercially so I’ve suggested some alternatives in the pdfs but basically you can make them with any scraps of DK yarn you have lying around. The patterns are quite straightforward and can be knitted by a beginner with some basic skills – but if you find it all too much – you can always buy the ready-made Pebble ones! Happy knitting x
