AGM and Anti-Poverty week

On 18th October we held the AGM for Hathay Bunano at our finishing centre in Notun Bazar and also kicked off anti-poverty week with a programme including discussions about HBPS’ role in reducing poverty, as well as songs, performances and a drama.   Everyone took part as well as some ladies coming from the rural production centres to be part of the AGM and enjoy the event afterwards.

There are some very talented actresses in the HBPS staff and they put on a wonderful drama about the life of a family before and after joining HBPS.   Drama is a great cultural tradition in Bangladesh with villages getting together and putting on their own plays periodically, often with very little resources.   This visual means of communication is very popular and so everyone was happy to see the play and celebrate the start of anti-poverty week.
